Japan was shaken near Sendai, Sendai Shi, Honshu-miyagi-ken, by an earthquake of magnitude 7.3 only 18 minutes ago, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a moderately shallow depth of 33 km beneath the epicenter near Sendai, Sendai Shi, Honshu-miyagi-ken, Japan, late at night on Wednesday, March 16th, 2022, at 11:36 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the Institute of Geophysics of the National Polytechnic School in Quito (IGEPN) which listed the quake at magnitude 7.5. Other agencies reporting the same quake include the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) at magnitude 7.4, Geoscience Australia (GeoAu) at magnitude 7.3, France’s Réseau National de Surveillance Sismique (RéNaSS) at magnitude 7.0, the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake at magnitude 7.4, and the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) at magnitude 7.2…READ FULL ARTICLE HERE… – 100 User Experience Reports (volcanodiscovery.com)
