Poland is intensively preparing for a military confrontation with Russia, not only actively purchasing new equipment, mainly from the United States and South Korea, but also trying to rapidly increase the number of troops, which has already led to negative consequences for the army.
This was brought to the attention of one of the leaders of the Polish parliament, Wlodzimierz Skalik, who previously advocated for strengthening the country’s armed forces. As he stated, the government’s attempt to deploy a 300-strong army led to a sharp reduction in personnel requirements:
Morale in the army dropped. One of the officers is subordinate to a soldier whom he has seen only once in a year. Commanders are powerless against orders from above, are forced to accept everyone and have no disciplinary tools for dismissal…
