Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene blasted the nearly 40 House Democrats, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who wrote to House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy on Thursday and asked him to address her ‘dangerous’ behavior.

She slammed them as ‘communists’ and mocked one of the Democratic lawmakers who signed the letter for having a transgender child.

‘It’s absurd Democrats accuse me of creating an environment of harassment for speaking at a Trump rally and defining them as who they are. Communists,’ she said in a statement.

‘I receive constant harassment in public caused by the Democrat lies promoted by the media,’ she argued.

She claimed to be the victim of a ‘witch hunt’ and said she has done ‘nothing wrong.’

The letter was spearheaded by Rep. Pramila Jayapal and said that she and her fellow lawmakers were concerned about ‘dangerous, concerning, and unacceptable behavior’ from the Georgia Republican.

‘The Congresswoman’s harassment of her colleagues has reached an unacceptable level,’ the letter states. ‘We respectfully request that you work with her to address these issues and ensure that this type of behavior no longer continues.’

The letter comes after repeated incidents between Greene and Democratic lawmakers.

She and Ocasio-Cortez, in particular, have argued in the hallways of Congress and on the House floor. After a May confrontation on the House floor, where Greene verbally confronted Ocasio-Cortez and then followed her out to the hallway to continue yelling, the New York Democrat considered getting a restraining order against Greene.

The letter mentions that incident and several others, including Greene’s behavior prompting Democrats to move Rep. Cori Bush’s office away from her after the two lawmakers had a run-in in the hallway over mask wearing; and Green trolling her office neighbor, Rep. Marie Newman, with an anti-trans sign after Newman, whose daughter is transgender, displayed a trans flag in the hallway.

Greene responded to those charges in her statement Thursday, calling Newman ‘Newperson’ and claiming Bush ‘lied to get a bigger office.’

Bush and Newman also signed the letter as did a diverse group of moderate and liberal Democrats.

The Democrats write to McCarthy that Greene’s ‘behaviors only appear to be escalating.’

They note Greene appeared at former President Donald Trump’s ‘revenge rally’ in Ohio this past weekend, where she said Ocasio-Cortez should be ‘locked up.’ Greene also repeated the false claim Trump won the election.

At that rally she called Ocasio-Cortez a ‘Little Communist’ and ‘not an American.’

‘First of all, I’m taller than her,’ Ocasio-Cortez responded via Twitter.

In their letter, the Democrats also express concern that Greene’s ‘conduct is creating an unsafe work environment for members, and that her actions could lead to violence against members of Congress.’

They argued that McCarthy, as leader of the House Republicans, should act.

‘Every day that goes by without action from your leadership is a tacit endorsement of the Congresswoman’s offenses, and invitation for her to continue—and escalate further. Everyone has a right to a workplace free from harassment and abuse, including members of Congress. We urge you in the strongest terms to take immediate action to address Rep. Greene’s behavior,’ they wrote.

They do not offer any suggestions for what McCarthy should do.
