The media and health officials are sounding the alarm on this purported new wave of Covid-19 infections from what appears to be several different new variants, depending on the sources, prompting some venues and institutions to reinstate mask-wearing, as the White House is asking Americans to take the latest round of vaccines.
One of these so-called new variants is being called âErisâ (EG.5) said last week by outlets like the New York Post, warning that Covid cases were up 55% in New York, prompting doctors to fear new variants, the paper reported.
