The House Ethics Committee may be planning to screw Matt Gaetz by publicly releasing their smear report but he could ring in the new year with a wicked surprise.
On Wednesday, the news broke that the Ethics Committee – an unethical collection of Democrats and allies of deposed ex-Speaker Kevin McCarthy – voted behind closed doors to put out their slime job of Gaetz, a reversal of their previous position.
The abrupt shift has the committee set to launch its sleazy salacious sewage into the media as soon as Congress has wrapped up its voting for the year and blown D.C. for the extended Christmas break, guaranteeing that it will receive saturation coverage in what is typically one of the slowest news periods of the year.
Gaetz, who was forced to withdraw from consideration as attorney general after GOP senators refused to support him, tried to get out ahead of the report by reminding people that the allegations contained within were made by discredited sources and were given so little credence by Merrick Garland’s Justice Department that it passed up a chance to indict the loyal ally of President-elect Donald J. Trump.
