Midwestern grocery store chain Meijer will now begin selling a vegan meat alternative that is made from fungus at 260 stores, across 6 states ā Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin.
Meati FoodsĀ announced its Eat Meatiā¢ will be sold in four different options: the Classic Cutlets and Classis Steaks, Crispy Cutlets, and Carne Asada Steaks; with two units in each package.
The company produces what is called mycelium-based meat (fungus-based), cultivated and fermented in vats similar to beer.
