Mexico Explodes: It’s Now Open War Between Cartels, Mexican Military

On Sunday, we reported on the developing mess in Mexico: The resort town of Puerto Vallarta locked down, travel warnings, tourists “advised” to stay within the resorts, to shelter in place. There were rumors that the fighting was kicked off by the Mexican military’s killing a notorious cartel goblin, Ruben “Nemesio” Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho,” leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). That killing has now been confirmed. Now, over Sunday night, Mexico is plunged into warfare between the Mexican government and the cartels; the military is again involved, and there are indications that the cartels may have the government outgunned.

That’s not good.
