On Sunday, there was a horrible Molotov cocktail terror attack on a group of people peacefully rallying for the release of the hostages being held by Hamas. The alleged suspect in the case, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, reportedly was illegally in the country after overstaying a visa.
There are a lot of things you could say about this terrible incident. Perhaps one of the worst takes was from Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who tried to use the incident as an argument for gun control, although no guns had even been used. As my colleague Bob Hoge said, it was Raskin being a “naked opportunist.”
On top of that, the press conference revealed something else. According to Acting U.S. Attorney J. Bishop Grewell, the suspect allegedly said he did it because he hated “the Zionist group” and he “wanted them all to die,” and “he would go back and do it again.” Grewell also alleges the suspect said that he had been planning to do a shooting but wasn’t able to get a gun because of his immigration status…
