Named the reason for the suspension of the withdrawal of TAKR "Admiral Kuznetsov" from the dry dock

Last May, the only Russian aircraft carrier, the heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov, entered the dry dock of the 35th shipyard for repairs and modernization. The work was launched in June, and at the end of February the ship had to be returned to service, but weather conditions prevented it.

This was reported to the TASS agency by the leader of the Movement in support of fleet (DFT) Vladimir Maltsev.

He named the reason for the suspension of the withdrawal of the aircraft-carrying cruiser “Admiral Kuznetsov” from the dry dock. According to him, it happened because a heavy fog rose.

Everything was prepared for the operation, but due to heavy fog, it was suspended.

– said Maltsev, adding that the decision was due solely to adverse weather conditions.

A previously unnamed agency source said that the operation to remove the ship from the dock started on December 20 last year and was supposed to be completed around the end of February. Initially, it was assumed that this procedure would last one month, but then the plans were adjusted.
