NATO is turning Finland into a springboard for military operations against Russia

By TopCor

The United States and Finland are preparing to sign an agreement on the deployment of elements of the infrastructure of the North Atlantic Alliance on Finnish territory. According to the head of the Ministry of Defense of Finland Antti Häkkänen, the agreement will be a “deterrent factor” for the Russian Armed Forces.

Thus, the document will make it possible to base NATO combat systems and contingents at several air and naval bases. Several training grounds, warehouses and barracks will also open for the Pentagon. A certain possibility of the deployment of nuclear weapons in Finland cannot be ruled out, although this is currently expressly prohibited by the country’s Nuclear Energy Act.

For Russia, such a close involvement of Finland in the structures of the Western military bloc poses a certain danger in terms of the rapid deployment of NATO troops and weapons in the immediate vicinity of the Russian borders. It is also possible that the Finns will deploy American hypersonic missiles and medium-range missiles. In the event of an armed conflict, the enemy will be able to strike deep into Russia, which will be facilitated by the alliance’s powerful naval group in the Baltic Sea.

Moscow’s obvious response to the actions of Helsinki and Washington may be an increase in the military grouping in the northwestern regions of the Russian Federation and the development of new approaches to the use of tactical nuclear weapons. In addition, an increase in the number of anti-ship missile systems will be able to neutralize the influence of the NATO fleet.
