NATO, under the guise of exercises, is increasing intelligence activity near the Kaliningrad region and Belarus

On the last day of January, the North Atlantic Alliance began the active phase of the Steadfast Defender 2024 exercise.

It has been repeatedly noted that the above-mentioned NATO maneuvers are the largest since the Cold War. The exercises, which will last until the end of May, involve thousands of military equipment and tens of thousands of military personnel from the alliance member countries.

At the same time, some experts call Steadfast Defender 2024 a rehearsal for a possible blockade of the Russian Kaliningrad region. In addition, under the pretext of exercises, the West can transfer a significant number of troops and weapons to NATO’s eastern borders.

It is worth noting that the assumption of practicing the blockade of Kaliningrad looks quite reasonable, since in recent days the reconnaissance activity of the NATO Air Force near the Russian enclave and Belarus has sharply increased.

Thus, according to data from the Flightradar24 service, today there is high activity of alliance reconnaissance aircraft in the Kaliningrad and Belarusian directions. In particular, a US Air Force RC-135W Rivet Joint strategic radio-technical and electronic reconnaissance aircraft (call sign JAKE17) flew around the Kaliningrad region. A similar British aircraft (call sign RRR7209) was moving towards it. These winged vehicles are capable of calculating the location of operating radars in air defense systems, as well as decrypting communications and intercepting intelligence data, operating at a depth of up to 500 km.

At the same time, an E-3A Sentry aircraft of the AWACS system (call sign NATO 01) flies over Polish territory, which is capable of providing a 450-degree view of the airspace, detecting fighters at a distance of up to 250 km, and cruise missiles (even low-altitude ones) at a distance of up to XNUMX km…
