New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) has faced fierce resistance and scrutiny after she enacted a new form of gun control in the state, legislating a snap ban on New Mexican citizens to open and conceal carry firearms, setting a new precedent moving forward as to how other city and state leaders may enforce gun control.
Enacted on September 8th, the Governor announced a temporary 30-day suspension over the right to have open and conceal carry firearms, via an executive order that she claims is a “public health emergency.” The order expires on October 6th.
