New Pro-Life Bill Would Ban Abortion Pills Nationwide

By Verity Germenis

For many years, abortion in America mostly happened inside clinics. But that’s no longer the case.

Today, a major shift has taken place: Abortion pills are now the most common way babies are killed in the United States. In fact, they make up more than half of all abortions each year. And unlike before, these pills can now be sent through the mail, often without an in-person doctor visit.

That’s a huge change from how things used to work.

Recently, Missouri Senator Josh Hawley introduced a new bill, the Safeguarding Women from Chemical Abortion Act, that aims to push back on this shift. His proposal would ban abortion pills nationwide and allow women to sue the companies that make them if they are harmed.

Senator Hawley spoke about his bill at a press conference, stressing the growing threat of abortion pills to women. “The science is clear: the abortion drug is inherently dangerous to women and prone to abuse. Yet major companies like Danco Laboratories are making billions off it,” said Senator Hawley. “That’s why I am introducing new legislation to ban the use of mifepristone for abortion and empower women to sue its manufacturers. Congress must act now to protect the health and safety of women.”

Abortion pills now account for over half of the one million abortions that abortionists perform in the United States each year, making them one of the greatest threats to human Life in America.
