A new analysis of secret documents leaked from inside China directly implicates Chinese leader Xi Jinping in ordering and organizing the repression campaign targeting Chinaâs Ughyur ethnic minority.
âThe Xinjiang Papers, Explainedâ, published on Nov. 27, is an expanded look at the original âXinjiang Papersâ, a set of classified Chinese documents leaked to the New York Times in 2019. The new report presents a more complete explanation of these papers, and also includes new documents not covered by the Times.
The newly leaked source documents were authenticated and analyzed by China scholars Adrian Zenz, James Millward, and David Tobin. The report was produced by the Uyghur Tribunal, a London-based peopleâs tribunal, who chose to publish only excerpts and analysis of the papers, not complete documents, to protect the source of the leak….
