NM: The Turkish army is experiencing a staff officer crisis, and they are turning to aging generals to serve longer

By Topwar

The European press comes out with an article claiming that the Turkish army is “experiencing a staff officer crisis.” The article in the Nordic Monitor states that due to the shortage of staff officers and their “poor training,” the high command is forced to turn to “aging generals” who should already be retiring – to a well-deserved rest.

The essence of the appeal, as this publication based in Sweden writes, is that “in the context of a growing number of threats, aging generals are being offered to extend their service in the Turkish army – to serve some more.”

The author of the NM article is reporter Levent Kenez. The publication itself was created in Sweden by people from Turkey who are in strict opposition to President Erdogan and are “Gulenists” (supporters of the preacher Fethullah Gulen, accused by Ankara of organizing an attempted coup in Turkey).
