No Survivors Found At Chinese Plane Crash Site As Hunt For Black Box Continues

Update (0930ET): The update from Chinese authorities about yesterday’s crash didn’t provide many answers, as authorities confirmed that there indeed were no survivors from the crash. While the investigation has yielded no answers so far, as the debris from the accident has proven extremely difficult to access, Chinese authorities have announced a sweeping two-week “safety assessment” that encompasses air-traffic control bureaus, airlines, airports and flight-training organizations, according to the agency’s CAAC News, which cited an official notice.

Chinese authorities did say that their air traffic control tried to reach the pilots of Flight MU5735, but they apparently didn’t get a response.
