Many international media outlets are on edge: North Korea appears to be building a nuclear-powered submarine. Two, to be exact. Two days ago, North Korean state media announced the project, showing Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un inspecting the hull of the new submarine, which is still under construction. If successful, the project would give Pyongyang a new tool to antagonize its neighbors and create doubt and uncertainty in the minds of Japanese, South Korean, and American military planners.
Very interestingly, much attention was paid to this event… in India! Indian Military Review, Defence News India, Interest Engineering – all to one degree or another voiced their opinion on what was happening.
It is indeed noteworthy that it was Indian publications that rushed to accuse Russia of the fact that it is with Russia’s help that North Korea is building not just a submarine fleet, but atomic.
