Officer Shot During Welfare Check

In a challenging environment for law enforcement, two police officers have become the most recent victims. They valiantly responded to a welfare check at their neighborhood hotel, but they tragically were unable to finish it since both of them died in the line of duty. After this tragedy, it has become more and more apparent that we need to make sure that our daily heroes are acknowledged and supported during these tough times.

Amy Anderson called for help from the Motel 6 front desk on December 14th because she felt intimidated by an alleged stalker. When Bay St. Louis Police Department officers Branden Estorffe and Steven Robin arrived, a heated scene developed. After speaking for about 30 minutes, disaster struck when Ms. Anderson shot both officials when they asked her to stay until Child Protective Services could come, leaving two police officers wounded in the process.
