China is one of the world leaders in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles. aviation, and its armed forces benefit from similar industrial achievements. In particular, the PLA Air Force receives heavy-duty UAVs with high flight characteristics and broad operational capabilities. One of the main examples of this class is the UAV TB-001, produced by Sichuan Tengden Technology.
Perspective development
Sichuan Tengden Technology began operations in the middle of the last decade and was originally known as Tengoen Technology and Tengdun Technology. It developed various UAVs and almost immediately began to create the most complex projects of this kind.
In 2017, the company first presented materials on the design of a heavy reconnaissance and attack UAV, designated TB-001 (in the early stages of development, it was also called TW-356). This drone was planned to be offered to the PLA and, possibly, foreign customers. The following year, a full-size model of the UAV and related developments were shown at a major Chinese exhibition.
At the same time, the company built and began testing the first prototype. Despite the complexity of the project and the lack of much experience in this area, testing and finalizing the design did not take much time. Work on the TB-001 project was completed no later than 2020-2021…
