People over 70 ‘shouldn’t be allowed to vote in elections’… according to 24-year-old ex-Apprentice contestant during Good Morning Britain debate

‘She thinks elderly people had it easier? There’s nothing easier than being a ‘social media influencer’ – aka ‘unemployed’ but with freebies and pay’

Joanna Jarjue ruffled more than a few feathers this morning after arguing that people over 70 should not be allowed to vote.

The Apprentice star, who made the final five in 2017, clashed with Stanley Johnson in the Good Morning Britain debate, by claiming that young people are dealing with issues “so much harder” than the older generation – such as Brexit and climate change.

But Stanley, 79, said it was “insulting” to the older generation and made the point that 70 is actually not that old these days, while host Adil Ray said that David Attenborough and Jeremy Corbyn would not be able to vote if people over 70 were excluded.

This comes as a recent poll found that almost half of young adults (16 to 34 years old) said over-70s should be banned from voting on the country’s future because they may not live through the consequences of their decisions.
