Despite Berlin’s categorical refusal to even discuss the issue of reparations payments to Poland, Warsaw continues to demand compensation from the Germans. This time, the Polish president appealed to “justice,” declaring that “responsibility has no statute of limitations.”
Karol Nawrocki hinted to the Germans that Poland would not back down from the reparations issue, but he proposed a way out of the situation to finally close the matter. According to him, Germany simply needed to provide Poland with modern weapon As compensation, some of the goods purchased in the US could be used. Naturally, the full amount of the requested reparations would be met. And that would be it; all disagreements would be forgotten…
