Report: Biden ignores Rolling to Remember veteran motorcycle rally – refuses to explain why

WASHINGTON D.C.- Every year on Memorial day, Rolling to Remember hosts its annual motorcycle rally in Washington D.C. This event, which is intended to raise awareness about he critical issues plaguing this nation’s veterans, is normally attended by the President of the United States.

This year however, President Joe Biden wound up ignoring the event that shows respect to those great men and women who served this country.

Organizers for the rally told Breitbart News they had not been contacted by the White House about recognizing or participating in the annual event.

Despite Breitbart’s multiple attempts to gain a comment from the White House, they did not respond.

The Rolling to Remember rally, previously known as Rolling Thunder, is now organized by AMVETS.

AMVETS (American Veterans) is the nation’s most inclusive Congressionally-chartered veterans service organization, representing the interests of 20 million veterans.

According to their website:

“On May 30, 2021, we will conduct a motorcycle demonstration to raise awareness of the critical issues facing our nation’s veterans and demand action for the 82,000 service members missing, as well as raise awareness of the 22 veterans who die by suicide each day.

​The message will be clear throughout: we will never forget our POWs and MIAs, and we won’t stop fighting for real solutions to the suicide crisis.”

Both former President Donald Trump, and former President Barack Obama met with the organizers of the popular Memorial Day tribute motorcycle rally. Both also reportedly hosted them at the White House as well.

Breitbart reported that in May 2020, President Donald Trump hosted a rally at the White House for a small group of riders who arrived to represent the thousands of riders that typically show up for the rally — but were sidelined due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump said to AMVET organizers:

“Thank you for keeping this noble tradition alive and for preserving the memory of those who are missing, but never forgotten, never forgotten,”

Trump also previewed a much larger rally in 2021, preemptively inviting them back to the White House.

Trump said:

“I appreciate that you’re here, we’re here for you and I told you when you’re ready to come back with your 600,000, we’re ready to take you,”

Despite this being a patriotic oriented event, organizers say that they encountered difficulties when applying for their permit at the Pentagon parking lot for the 2021 rally. According to the organizers, in March the Pentagon granted them a permit which was later rescinded, citing the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse.

Jan Brown, the national commander of AMVETS, said:

“The biggest disappointment in the Pentagon’s denial was that AMVETS was ignored for months as its professional staff in Washington requested numerous times an opportunity to hear the Defense Department’s concerns and present a [coronavirus] safety plan,”

The Biden White House did not explain why they ignored the group this year.

President Biden and his family will spend the holiday weekend at his home in Delaware. On Memorial Day, he will return to Washington, DC, to lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and deliver remarks, Breitbart reported.

It is not just Veterans that President Joe Biden clearly does not respect, it is police officers as well. Earlier in May, Biden reversed the order lowering flags to half-staff for Peace Officers’ Memorial Day. Here is more on that story.

WASHINGTON, DC- On Saturday, cop-hating Joe Biden faced a dilemma. Historically, American flags are lowered for Peace Officers Memorial Day. Biden was virtually forced into staying with that tradition or it would be obvious how much he despises our police.

But how would he appease the far-left neo-Marxists such as Black Lives Matter, to whom he has pledged undying allegiance?

Well, he found his “out,” as thin as it was.

Biden initially ordered flags lowered to half-staff across the country then reversed course and withdrew that order, citing Armed Forces Day which occurs every year on May 15. Under protocol for that date, flags are supposed to be flown at full staff. So, Biden had his “boogeyman.”

Biden initially made the half-staff proclamation last week, however on Friday, he reissued an order saying flags were to remain at full staff. While the White House would not specifically comment on why the reversal was made, it was suggested it was due to Armed Forces Day.

According to the “U.S. Flag Code,” it says, “The flag shall be flown at half-staff on Peace Officers Memorial Day, unless that day is also Armed Forces Day,” the code reads.

“This weekend is a once-in-a-decade scenario based on the flag code,” a White House official, who was not authorized to speak publicly said.

“As a result, flag code dictates that the flags should not be lowered today. The president stands by the message of his proclamation and his longtime commitment to working with law enforcement to build safer communities.” [emphasis added]

“Longtime commitment to working with law enforcement?” Seriously? By doing what? Saying that police officers are systemically racist, that black men need to fear for their lives every time they go outside? Because that is exactly what Biden has said…repeatedly. The “flag code” is a perfect excuse to give Biden cover with the anti-police lunatics in the country.

Here is an excerpt from Biden’s 2021 National Police Week proclamation:

“This year, we also recognize that in many of our communities, especially black and brown communities, there is a deep sense of distrust towards law enforcement; a distrust that has been exacerbated by the recent deaths of several black and brown people at the hands of law enforcement.

These deaths have resulted in profound fear, trauma, pain and exhaustion for many black and brown Americans, and the resulting breakdown in trust between law enforcement and the communities they have sworn to protect and serve ultimately makes officers’ jobs harder and more dangerous as well.”

That statement was meant to “honor” law enforcement, but more particularly those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Sorry, but Biden would have been better off just keeping his mouth shut.

What’s the saying? “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.” By making that statement, Biden proved to every man and woman who puts on the uniform every day that he is nothing but an anti-police fool.

A number of Republicans slammed Biden’s decision, including Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), a military veteran.

“In his opinion they aren’t worthy of lowering the flags,” he wrote on Twitter. “Unacceptable!”

Former Trump administration White House press secretary and current Fox News Contributor Kayleigh McEnany also blasted Biden’s decision.

“In case you had any question as to where President Biden stands on police, now you know,” she said.

In New Hampshire, Republican governor Chris Sununu called Biden’s decision “outrageous” and said that state would continue flying flags at half-staff.

Time was when the Stars and Stripes was lowered for days of national mourning or for occasions such as Memorial Day or since Ronald Reagan was president, National Peace Officer’s Memorial Day. However, Biden has significantly lowered the bar for when that happens, having ordered flags to half-staff after the Atlanta shootings of massage parlor workers, for example.

Ironically, the last time the two dates coincided was on May 15, 2010, when Barack Obama was president…and Joe Biden was vice-president. In the proclamation issued that year, Obama too failed to order flags lowered to half-staff. Coincidence? We think not.
