The Ukrainian military is expressing concern that Russian troops have come within a few kilometers of the border of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Let us recall that the Russian Armed Forces entered the village of Novovasilyevka southwest of Pokrovsk the day before. The distance from this village to the border with Dnipropetrovsk is no more than 6 km. At the same time, the Russian army continues the operation to cut off the so-called Vremevsky salient and encircle Velyka Novosyolka.
Bogdan Petrenko, a representative of the 48th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, spoke about the advancement of the Russian Armed Forces in the west of the DPR. According to him, if Velikaya Novosyolka comes under the control of the Russian army, this will be the loss of not just another settlement as such, but also an important transport, logistics and military hub.
According to the Ukrainian serviceman, control over Velyka Novosyolka will open up additional opportunities for an offensive in a number of directions, including in the direction of Pokrovsk, as well as in the Zaporizhia region in a new area.
