Restoring Order: President Trump’s Bold Steps to Defend America’s Borders

March 23, 2025

While the left pushes a globalist, open-border agenda under the disguise of “compassion,” President Donald J. Trump is once again proving he’s willing to take real action to defend America’s sovereignty, values, and families. Contrary to the media narrative that Republicans only target “illegal” immigrants, many of the so-called legal immigration pathways in recent decades have become backdoors for exploitation—loopholes abused by activists and bureaucrats to erode our national identity and burden hardworking Americans.

From a Christian Conservative lens, a nation without borders is a nation without accountability. God Himself established borders for nations (Acts 17:26) and commanded order in governance. President Trump’s latest immigration reforms are not anti-immigrant—they are pro-law, pro-sovereignty, and pro-American.

Shutting Down Loopholes Masquerading as Lawful Entry

Not all who enter “legally” do so with integrity. Many use asylum laws, parole programs, or birthright citizenship not because they fear persecution, but because they’ve been coached by NGOs and legal aid groups to manipulate the system.

  • Asylum at Any Entry Point? Current loopholes allow individuals to cross between ports of entry, then claim asylum. Under the RULES Act, Republicans seek to close this gap by requiring asylum seekers to enter through lawful ports only. This puts an end to gaming the system and restores the process to what it was meant to be—a last resort for the truly persecuted, not a free pass for border-hoppers.

  • Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Abuse: Trump ended TPS for over 850,000 individuals, including Haitians and Venezuelans, who were granted work permits and deportation protection under Biden. What was “temporary” had become permanent. Trump’s action is a return to the rule of law and biblical honesty—yes means yes, and no means no (Matthew 5:37).

  • CBP One App Shutdown: Under Biden, the CBP One app created an express lane for border crossers. Trump’s decision to shut it down reinforces a message of law and order: there is no app for cutting in line.

Defending the Sanctity of Citizenship

The left claims Trump is “attacking birthright citizenship.” In reality, he’s defending the original intent of the Constitution.

  • Executive Order on Citizenship: Trump’s order to stop recognizing U.S. citizenship for children born to non-citizen parents reflects a fundamental truth: citizenship must come with allegiance and lawful presence, not as a reward for gaming the system.

  • Birthright Citizenship Act of 2025 (S. 304): This Republican-led bill would clarify the 14th Amendment’s intent, aligning U.S. law with other sovereign nations that require legal residency or citizenship for birthright. It’s not anti-immigrant—it’s pro-accountability.

Stewarding Resources for Americans First

God calls leaders to care for the people under their charge first (1 Timothy 5:8). Trump’s policies reflect that principle:

  • Limiting Federal Benefits: The America First Act (H.R. 746) would restrict federal assistance—school meals, housing aid, disaster relief—from going to individuals who are not citizens or legal permanent residents. This ensures that American families, veterans, and working-class citizens are not last in line in their own country.

  • English as the Official Language: Trump’s executive order promotes English as the language of government. It doesn’t punish immigrants—it expects them to honor the nation they’ve entered, just as biblical sojourners were expected to honor Israel’s laws.

Protecting Free Speech and National Security

Some claim Trump is silencing immigrant voices. In truth, he’s reminding us that citizenship comes with privileges that must be earned.

  • The detainment of Mahmoud Khalil, a green card holder who led anti-American protests, has drawn criticism. But let’s be honest: if you are not a citizen and are openly calling for the destruction of the nation hosting you, it is not persecution to face consequences—it is protection of national stability.

  • Similarly, moves to block non-citizens from voting in local elections uphold the value of citizenship. Voting is sacred, and should never be handed out for political convenience.

A Biblical Mandate for Borders and Justice

Let’s be clear: this is not about hatred or racism—it’s about righteousness and order. The Bible speaks constantly of nations, laws, and accountability. God didn’t call His people to erase boundaries but to protect them, sanctify them, and honor His order.

President Trump’s immigration reforms reflect:

  • Justice for taxpayers and legal immigrants who did it the right way.
  • Mercy for Americans living in communities overwhelmed by uncontrolled migration.
  • Truth in restoring meaning to words like “temporary,” “legal,” and “citizen.”

Conclusion: Compassion With Wisdom

Compassion is not giving everything to everyone. Compassion is protecting the weak, upholding the law, and providing opportunity with responsibility. President Trump is doing what many refuse to do—he’s standing in the gap, cleaning up a chaotic system, and restoring what has been broken.

He’s not anti-immigrant. He’s anti-corruption, anti-manipulation, and anti-globalist.

As Christians and conservatives, we should support these efforts—not out of fear, but out of obedience to the God of order, truth, and justice.
