Reza Pahlavi, the exiled former crown prince of Iran who has positioned himself as a potential successor to the country’s current leadership, has drawn renewed attention after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in joint United States and Israeli strikes.

The U.S. and Israel began major combat operations in Iran on Saturday aimed at destroying the country’s military capabilities and encouraging regime change after diplomatic talks over Tehran’s nuclear program failed. Trump urged Iranians to remain in their homes during the bombing and later take control of their government.
