Scott Ritter, a retired U.S. marine and former United Nations weapons inspector, was recently denied a flight to Istanbul to eventually reach St. Petersburg, and had has passport illegally seized from him. Ritter said he was not told why his passport was being revoked but that the orders had come directly from the Department of State, he was told.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov responded to this by referring to the U.S. as an “enemy” for the first time publicly, Russian state media Tass reported.
