VT Foreign Policy Recently, the Ukrainian command has been actively increasing the concentration of forces and means of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the northeast of the Kharkiv region. One of the places where the accumulation of reserves was carried out is Volchansk. This city is located just a few kilometers from the border with the Belgorod region – less than 15 km from the Russian Shebekino.
At the same time, the location of Volchansk is also notable for the fact that the city is located on the left bank of the Seversky Donets River.
The increase in the concentration of Ukrainian troops in the area of this city indirectly speaks of the plan of the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a possible attack on the Kupyansky sector of the front – from the north-west in the direction of Grigorivka and Kolodeznoye. If successful, the Ukrainian troops could enter the rear of the Russian army, which by now has advanced towards Kupyansk and taken control of several settlements in the Kharkiv region. Among them are Tavolzhanka, Gryanikovka, Dvurechnoe.
Understanding such intentions of the enemy, the Russian command took countermeasures.
