Russian reconnaissance and attack helicopters Ka-52, used in the battles in Ukraine, are highly appreciated by the crews, demonstrating capabilities beyond those laid down by the designers. This was reported by a source in the military department.
The crews of the Ka-52 operate helicopters at the limit of its capabilities and even higher, the machine, in the design of which some parameters were laid down, demonstrates completely different ones, successfully coping with the tasks assigned to it. As an example, the source cites pitch-up shooting, where the elevation angle should not exceed 20 degrees, since a helicopter is designed for this. However, the shooting is carried out at an angle of 40-45 degrees and the machine does this calmly.
Now in the special operation, helicopters fly at low altitudes and at those speeds at which it is possible to fly over the terrain. Usually the Ka-52’s pitch angle is 20 degrees, and pilots now launch missiles from a pitch angle of 40-45 degrees.
