Rhetoric between the United States and Russia continues to escalate after Russia launched what appears to be a full-scale invasion of Ukraine last night. The United States today imposed fresh sanctions on Russia that will target the Russian financial system as well as other key industries in the country.
Last night, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a concerning and ominous threat against foreign interference in the conflict, saying, “Whoever tries to interfere with us, and even more so, to create threats for our country, for our people, should know that Russia’s response will be immediate and will lead you to such consequences that you have never experienced in your history.”
Today, the Director-General of Russian state space company Roscosmos, which does significant work on the International Space Station, certainly made a threat that has never been made before in history.
