San Francisco Restaurant Becomes First In US To Serve Lab-Grown Chicken

Since the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) formally approved cell-cultured chicken products created by two companies funded by Bill Gates, a restaurant in San Francisco, California, has become the first restaurant to begin serving the faux meats.

City-based outlet SFist reported that famous high-end wine bar Bar Crenn will begin serving the lab-grown chicken at least once a month at first, and plans to eventually phase more faux chicken dishes in overtime. Bar Crenn stopped offering real meat-based dishes years ago but has welcomed the fake stuff.

Meat is insanely complicated — both within the food system and the environment as a whole — and, honestly, it felt easier to just remove it from the menus all together.
