Satanists claim they’re entitled to abortion as a religious rite

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday overturned Roe v. Wade, the faulty 1973 decision that created a “right” to abortion and inserted it into the Constitution.

But that doesn’t mean there’s no more abortion, it just means states will be allowed to regulate it through their legislatures, and elections.

But one group claims to be exempted from all of those rules.

The Satanic Temple issued a statement after the court ruling was release insisting that it is recognized by the IRS “as a religion,” and since it considers abortion a religious “ritual,” those procedures must be allowed under federal law…

    The Ninth Amendment states: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

    So, then, the question devolves to whether or not the foetus is a “people.” If is, then foetus has same right of privacy as the mother and self-determination on what happens to a body. The problem is both mother and foetus are alive with co-equal right of privacy, the right to be left alone.     Preamble to the Constitution is important on the intent of the framers:

    “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

    The last phrase “… and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity…” answers what the framers intended for the unborn child’s “self” and “progeny” both in bar of TST’s claim of religious right under First Amendment or exception under Religious Freedom Restoration Act, as well as a right of the unborn child to be included in Ninth Amendment which surely controls over any other consideration.
