‘You’re missing the point’: Watch network fail miserably trying to trap Scott Bessent with gotcha questions on Trump

 President Donald Trump reacted harshly Saturday to the death of former special counsel Robert Mueller at age 81, saying about the man who probed false Russia-collusion claims for year: “Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!”

On Sunday, Kristen Welker, anchor or NBC’s “Meet the Press,” tried to trap Scott Bessent, Trump’s treasury secretary, with gotcha questions, hoping he would criticize the president for the remark.

“Do you think it’s appropriate for the president of the United States to celebrate the death of an American citizen, someone who is a Bronze Star, Purple Heart recipient and who served in Vietnam?” Welker asked Bessent…
