Senate clears path to end DHS shutdown, bill must pass House next

Soon TSA workers in Minnesota may get paid. In the early morning of Friday, United States senators unanimously passed a bill to fund most of the Department of Homeland Security. This will secure a path to end the long shutdown that has left airports in turmoil.

With members of Congress eager to leave town for spring break, the bill left the Senate floor on March 27.

The eleventh-hour agreement provides money for all of DHS except for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol. It still has to pass the House of Representatives before going to President Donald Trump‘s desk…
