Slovakia is resuming production of the BMP-1, which it had previously decided to abandon.

Slovak company STV Machinery has begun serial production of modernized hulls for the BMP-1 and has already received its first export order.

The development, which lasted for about a year and commissioned by an affiliate of STV GROUP, included a complete digitalization of the design, the selection of modern materials, and the creation of new production documentation. Unlike the original vehicles, the hulls will be manufactured from modern versions of armor steel used in Western armored vehicles.
