Smith College Sparks Backlash After Honoring ‘Trans’ Biden Official Rachel Levine at Women’s Graduation

A high-profile appearance at Smith College’s commencement ceremony over the weekend ignited controversy as the historically all-female institution presented an honorary degree to a trans-identifying Biden administration official.

Rachel Levine, born Richard Levine, received the honor during Smith College’s 147th commencement ceremony on Sunday in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Levine, who served as the U.S. assistant secretary for health, was recognized for contributions to public health and LGBT advocacy. He also delivered a speech to the graduating class, WNG reports.

Levine’s participation in the event drew sharp criticism and protest, particularly from women’s rights advocates and conservative voices.
