Southern mother on maternity leave captures 12-foot gator for trophy rug

A mother of two in South Carolina is making headlines for grabbing a massive alligator that she says is going to become a rug.

Just five months after giving birth to her second child, and right before her maternity leave was scheduled to end, Brittany Livingston killed a 12-foot alligator. It took no time at all for people to notice, with some even posting videos to social media.

Even a quick trip to McDonald’s had employees leaving the store to take a peek at the Livingston’s once-in-a-lifetime trophy kill.

“We had a lot of eyes on us,” the Livingstons said, according to WCSC. “People were waving, giving thumbs up… even the workers at McDonald’s came outside to see it.”

“Livingston had been applying for a South Carolina alligator hunting tag for five years through the state’s alligator hunting season lottery system,” the outlet reported. “This year, her name was finally drawn in Unit 4, which covers the Pee Dee…
