A 25-year-old man who believed that life itself was a source of suffering is now at the center of a domestic terror investigation after a deadly car bomb exploded outside a California fertility clinic.
The blast, which tore through the American Reproductive Centers in Palm Springs on Saturday morning, has been labeled an “intentional act of terrorism” by federal authorities.
According to investigators, the suspect—identified as Guy Edward Bartkus—was driven by a belief system he called “pro-mortalism,” a radical ideology that advocates for the prevention of human birth to spare future suffering.
In a 30-minute audio manifesto recorded before the attack, Bartkus claimed he was targeting an IVF clinic because he was “angry that I exist” and upset that “nobody got my consent to bring me here.”
He also lashed out at people who pursue fertility treatments, calling them “stupid” for consciously choosing to have children, the Daily Mail reports…
