Sweden Considers Facial Recognition And Drone Surveillance Amidst Rising Gang Violence

Sweden continues to clamp down on hard in controlling gang violence that has exploded in the country, the latest being calls to integrate facial recognition surveillance cameras to track and ID potential criminals.

Last week The WinePress reported on how Sweden is sounding off about how organized crime is getting out of control, calling in the Army to aid police forces in reducing the threats. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson squarely blamed this rise in gang violence on mass-immigration.

Now Swedish officials are looking to fasttrack these inquiries to revamp the police forces with more biometric capabilities, more cameras, and drones to identify suspects…
