The long-term plan was to resettle the Jews to the sunny African island of Madagascar, after the war. This mutually beneficial plan to “divorce” Christian Europe from the often troublesome and disproportionately Communist Jews was known as the Madagascar plan. It obviously never came to pass because Germany would eventually lose the war.
