A Texas State Representative announced on Monday that he will introduce a bill to ban drag shows in the presence of minors in the Lone Star State, after shocking videos emerged over the weekend showing small children attending a drag show in Dallas.
âDrag shows are no place for a child,â tweeted Rep. Bryan Slaton, adding:  âI would never take my children to a drag show and I know Speaker Dade Phelan and my Republican colleagues wouldnât either.â Slaton said he would be filing legislation to address the issue when the next legislative session begins.
Slaton represents counties near the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where a gay bar held a âDrag the kids to prideâ event that was attended by parents of young children.
