A Texas weather forecaster who made a gut-wrenching confession on Facebook to her “sins” before she died took her own life, a colleague said.

Kelly Plasker, a reporter with NBC affiliate KCBD, died Sunday, two years after her son’s suicide death, according to the news station.

Plasker’s colleague Karin McKay remembered the reporter’s heartbreak over the death of her son in an on-air tribute Monday night, saying, “What you couldn’t see on TV was a broken heart.”

“I remember one day two years ago when she and I sat and talked in the studio and she told me her world would never be the same,” McKay said.

“She said, ‘He was 19 years old, 2 weeks away from turning 20.’ Kelly was referring to her son, Thomas, who took his life in February of 2018.”

Plasker had told her colleague at the time that it was “very difficult for those of us who knew him to comprehend why.”

“Now, this weekend, our sweet Kelly took her own life, a cry for help that she made very public on her Facebook page,” McKay told viewers.

In her final Facebook post, Plasker shared a “final confession for the sins I am responsible for” in which she claimed a teacher in high school groomed her for a years-long relationship.

“He was supposed to be somebody looking out for me, but instead of looking out for me he looked at me in ways that men should not look at children,” she wrote.

She also appeared to suggest that she was struggling with her mental health.

“I love you my friends. My brain is broken and I cannot take it anymore,” she wrote.
