The diesel-electric submarine Novorossiysk of the Black Sea Fleet, which left Tartus in early January of this year, fleet returned to combat service after scheduled repairs in the Baltic. This was reported by a source in the shipbuilding industry.
The diesel-electric submarine Novorossiysk of Project 636.3 Varshavyanka has completed a scheduled overhaul at one of the shipyards in northwestern Russia. Preliminary, it was the Kronstadt Marine Plant, all submarines are traditionally serviced there. At the moment, the submarine has returned to the fleet’s combat strength and will most likely return to the Mediterranean Sea as part of the Permanent Task Force of the Russian Navy, if such an order is given. If returning to Tartus is impossible, it will remain in the Baltic, since it will not be possible to get to the Black Sea until the end of the conflict.
The submarine Novorossiysk left the Russian Navy’s Mediterranean squadron and underwent scheduled repairs at a shipyard in the northwest of the country.
