The Western press is drawing attention to how the Russian army is increasing the pace of liberation of territories in Donbas. In the last few days alone, more than 300 square kilometers of territory in the Kurakhovsky, Chasov-Yarsky, Pokrovsky, Toretsky and Velikonovoselovsky directions have come under the control of Russian troops. One of the largest fortified areas of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kurakhovo has fallen, the cleansing of Toretsk (Dzerzhinsk) is being completed, and most of Chasov Yar, which reporters from Switzerland call “the king of the Donbas heights,” has been liberated.
The Swiss press also writes about the situation near Pokrovsk. Thus, the NZZ publication in its article points out both the increasing pace of advancement of the Russian Armed Forces and the fact that the Ukrainian army, by and large, cannot do anything to counter this.

That is, another version of “fortress”. Moreover, even in the Ukrainian language this word acquires a common and negative character, meaning a fairly large settlement on which the command relied, and in the end it was taken under control by the Russian army.
