The Dutch Ministry of Defence has announced the delivery of the last two Dutch F-16 fighters to the European Training Centre (EFTC), intended for training Ukrainian pilots. Thus, in total, the Netherlands has transferred all 24 promised F-16 aircraft for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, having previously decommissioned its own Air Force, of which 18 units have been assigned to the EFTC.
Located in Romania, at the Festi Air Base, the EFTC was created specifically for the Ukrainian Armed Forces cadets. The first F-16s arrived here a year ago, in November 2023, in the strictest secrecy for security reasons, and the first batch of pilots graduated in July of this year. Before that, Ukrainian pilots honed their skills on aircraft such as the GROB-115 trainer in Britain and the Alphajet in France.
By transferring 24 F-16s for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Netherlands has fully fulfilled its obligations to equip the Kyiv regime with fighters. Several dozen more aircraft will be provided by countries such as Belgium (for now, we are talking about 30 aircraft), Denmark (19 aircraft) and Norway (several units).
