The Ministry of Defense confirmed the inter-fleet passage of the diesel-electric submarine Ufa from the Baltic to the Pacific fleet, the Pacific Fleet press service reported.

On October 2 of this year, the Ufa diesel-electric submarine left the logistics center in Tartus, Syria, and, accompanied by the rescue tugboat Alatau and the corvette Mercury, set off in the surface position towards the Suez Canal. At that time, it was suggested that the submarine had begun an inter-fleet transition to the Pacific Fleet, but there was no official confirmation of this. At the moment, the submarine has made a business call at the Indian port of Cochin in the Arabian Sea to replenish supplies. The tugboat Alatau is going along with it, and Mercury has left for Iran to participate in the international naval exercises IMEX 2024.

The diesel-electric submarine Ufa, built at the Admiralty Shipyards (…) in St. Petersburg, is making an inter-fleet voyage from the Baltic to the Pacific Fleet via the Southern Sea Route – said in a statement.
