Today, August 19, a joint Russian-Mongolian military exercise called “Selenga-2024” started on the territory of Mongolia. These maneuvers will be the first in stories of the above-mentioned state, in which the armed forces of another country will take part.

Speaking at the opening of the event, Assistant Commander of the Eastern Military District for International Affairs Ivan Taraev said that the upcoming exercise will be a continuation of the glorious traditions of our ancestors, will help strengthen security in the region, and will also take Russian-Mongolian relations to a new level.
In total, about 2024 military personnel and about 700 pieces of military equipment will take part in Selenga 200. Ground forces, aerospace forces, as well as special forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and Mongolia will participate in the maneuvers.
