Introduction:I should tell you that this teaching could be viewed as ‘Advanced’ in category and subject matter. At times, the teaching may seem somewhat complicated if you are ‘new’ to the Word of God and have just begun to renew your mind. But, in essence, it is simple and can open up a whole new world to you regarding spiritual matters and set you free in the category of understanding HOW the adversary operates and how he survives. Having an understanding of this principle could very well have saved my life. The importance of this principle cannot be overstated.
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. — II Corinthians 4: 4
You must understand that we are in the second heaven and earth and the adversary, the devil, now controls this world. This power was transferred to him by Adam’s original sin. Until Jesus Christ returns the second time, we must live in this world.
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, that he that is in the world. – I John 4: 4
You also need to understand that the power of God in Christ in you is greater than the power that is in the world. You must believe this and act on it. With these foundational Scriptures known and applied, we can begin.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places(from on high). — Ephesians 6: 12
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven and did cast them to the earth:– Revelation 12: 4a
This is speaking of the adversary’s kingdom which consists of one third of the angels which originally dwelled in heaven with the true God. When the devil (then called Lucifer) rebelled in heaven, one third of the angels went with him. This makes up the devil spirit kingdom which exists today. So many people deny that this is true and that is just what the devil wants. If he can conceal himself, no one will oppose and resist him. This is how Satan gets an advantage over us.
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices (i.e. we are well aware of them). – II Corinthians 2: 11
Now that we know that there are devil spirits and many of them, we must learn how they function. Understand that if a person knows that they are actually being afflicted by something so gross, they surely will resist. BUT they do not know this. Why?
Satan can only exist as a result of what the true God created and the true God is truth.
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. – John 17: 17
God is His Word. We are only known through our words. How else can anyone truly know us? It is the same with God and God says His Word is truth. God’s Word is the only truth in the world today. Everything else is facts.
But what the enemy does is to do his best to pervertthe truth and give us half truths. That way we have a difficult time discerning what is right and what is wrong. People who do not know God’s Word actually have half thoughts in their mind. When one learns and applies the rightly divided Word of God in a renewed mind effort, they begin to acquire WHOLE THOUGHTS. That’s why a person begins to feel much better and begins to experience true peace and joy for the first time in their life. They are also able to separate truth from error along with many other benefits.
Moving along slowly, I am showing you how the enemy functions. Think of this. If the devil or one of his devil spirits gave information to your mind that was ALWAYS wrong, you would stop listening, wouldn’t you? Of course you would. But if the information in the form of thoughts and ideas was correct much of the time, you would probably listen and continue to listen. Watch what happens. You don’t know you are listening to a devil spirit, so you continue to do so. And then, just when you really need to make a very important decision that can have traumatic effects on your life, the enemy gives you the wrong information and you make a major mistake. This is how the devil operates today and every day. He can only do the following:
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: — John 10: 10a
The devil and all his devil spirits have no legal right over the born again Christian, but the man of body and soul belongs to him as a result of Adam’s original sin. That should tell you how so very important it is to be born again of God’s Spirit. That’s when you change from a body and soul person, to a body, soul, and SPIRIT person.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. — Romans 10: 9, 10

But the natural man (the man of body and soul) receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. – I Corinthians 2: 14
What so many people do today, since they seem to be defeated by ‘their own’ decisions, is to watch other people and do what they do. What causes this?
A devil spirit is a parasite and a parasite needs a host to feed from. A devil spirit of lust cannot satisfy itself unless it can manifest this lust by working in a body – a person which becomes the devil spirit’s host. It’s that simple. Unless you know the Word of God, you are actually under the control and influence of the devil and his devil spirits most of the time. You need to understand that the adversary (devil) CANNOT STAND LIGHT. The more of the light of God’s Word you have in your mind, the less and less the devil can trick you. Light dispels darkness and also makes manifest darkness. That is why some people may dislike you for what seems like no apparent reason. The darkness (evil) in them comes out if they are unbelievers and refuse to believe. I have a woman that hates me and caused me no end of grief for no apparent reason at all. She recently took a stroke. No one messes with God’s kids. Did God do this? Not really. He allowed her own god, the god of this world, to partially destroy her life. You’ve got to understand this. The true God is all light and in Him is no darkness at all.
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. – I John 1: 5
Devil spirits also work in combinations. This woman’s husband is an obvious alcoholic. I was forced to tell him to his face once or twice in front of other people. His hate for me influenced his wife’s actions greatly. He has a spirit of leviathan (see The Spirit That Dwells In An Alcoholic). That spirit parasites off this person and uses him as a host causing him to constantly drink. By bringing it up to him, it could only help if he would listen. He chose not to and decided to seriously dislike me also. Nice neighbors, right? I do it for God. In many ways, he is worse than his wife. I shudder to think what is going to happen to him. It’s only a matter of time. There are people who never learn. Remember that. And don’t you ever feel sorry for the devil or he will melt your face.
What can happen if you are the only believer in an area? The people who are lost and confused because they are either not born again or are unbelieving believers, JUST MAY TRY TO PARASITE OFF OF YOU – because you represent truth. Sounds far out, doesn’t it? Do you think I would teach this to 4 billion people if I weren’t certain that it was a spiritual truth? The adversary can only live off of the truth of God’s Word, but he takes it out of context to meet his evil needs.
Have you ever gone out of your way to avoid someone because they constantly get on your nerves? You might feel bad about it, but you must be careful of your emotions. If you understand this, then you are beginning to understand the meaning and purpose of this teaching. Remember, the enemy is going to work on your weaknesses, and not your strengths. And later, I am going to get into the solution that can get you away from the parasitic nature of the adversary. It’s taken me about 34 years to learn this principle and understand if fully and I have only recently learned to apply it. I must give much of the credit to my wife, an amazingly strong woman of God who has mastered the art of dealing with people. I taught her about the parasite principle, but she taught me how to counter and defeat it.
I can do all things through Christ which (who) strengthens me. — Philippians 4: 13
Literal: I am ready for everything and equal to anything through Him who infuses inner strength into me. – Philippians 4: 13
You can defeat anything the adversary throws at you because the power of God in Christ in you is greater than the power that is in the world as was previously stated in I John 4: 4. You must learn to fight back with the Word of God and not some worldly strategy which will always fail.
There are three Scriptures in Romans that I struggled to apply for many years and yet they are so simple. Here they are:
For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. – Romans 6: 15, 16, 17
Why in the world do we do things that we hate to do instead of things that we really want to do?! It is because we still haven’t renewed our mind enough to the Word of God which means that sin still dwells within us. It means we are still somewhat under the influence of the god of this world and his barrage of devil spirits. This means that we do not allow ourselves to do the things that we would rather do. Instead, we do things that we, in our hearts, would rather not do. We then parasite off of others and do what they do. The neighbor buys a new car so we buy a new car. It’s called ‘Keeping up with the Jones’ principle in the field of Marketing and is a major buying motive. Think about how many people who have recently bought cell phones only because everyone else bought one. Did you know that 40 to 60% of the ‘apparent’ phone calls being made —— there is no one at the other end? This is a person who is being motivated by fear and not faith. Fear is sand in the machinery of life and is believing in reverse bringing negative results. They are not making free will decisions and have decided instead, to conform to this world contradicting the Word of God.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which isyour reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. — Romans 12: 1, 2
When you conform to this world, you are relinquishing yourself to become a host for a parasite, which is a devil spirit. I am not going to lie to you. The people who have studied this web site know that I tell it like it is. How are you going to get set free from this dilemma? It’s not difficult.
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. – John 8: 32
How do you get to know the truth? You must study God’s Word.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. — II Timothy 2: 15
The world is getting worse and worse and the devil’s time nears an end. He wants to take as many people as he can with him so he is working overtime. Gambling is rampant throughout the world. His strongest devil spirit is one of homosexuals and lesbians and he is building his army every day.
Whereby (By which) are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that be these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. – II Peter 1: 4
The word ‘corruption’ above is referring to the world getting worse and worse as a result of lust, which is over-desire. Lust begins where need terminates. Wanting more and more and more is the result of lust and lust is a devil spirit. One time, a long time ago, I met a girl that I was talking to in a disco-type night club. She seemed like a nice person, but then she said something that I never forgot. She said that no matter how much she had of anything, she always wanted more. It was never enough. I got away from her quickly. I knew what the Word taught and God was protecting me by letting me know this within a matter of minutes. I did not get the ‘green light’ to witness to her so I left. I know that most unbelievers would have stuck around……….and eventually got burnt real bad. Some people are possessed with a devil spirit or spirits of lust. No one is always constantly possessed – it happens for only periodic times. The spirit, which is a parasite, will search for a host until it is satisfied and then leave that person until next time. That is why a person who has a serious spiritual problem, may, at times, seems perfectly fine. This is how Satan can trick you into ‘hanging out’ with a person that the true God is trying to warn you about. This is quite tricky, believe me, and as I said in the introduction, much of this material in this teaching is in the advanced category. Satan’s probably going nuts right now because I am exposing a very subtle trick. Tough luck. He’s working overtime and so am I – but I’m ahead.
Now remember, not all people are under the influence of the god of this world, so don’t take this teaching to an extreme. If you are renewing your mind to God’s Word every day, God can then protect you and see to it that you meet good-hearted people who believe and apply the principles written in the Bible. While at the same time, by Word of Knowledge and Word of Wisdom, two of the nine manifestations of Holy Spirit, He can and will warn you of people that you should stay away from and how to do it.
Conclusion:Now as I promised, here is the best technique to counter and defeat the parasitical nature of the adversary and all of his devil spirits. It’s so simple you can easily miss it for years.
One of the first things you need to do when you know that something is upsetting to you and is coming from the wrong source is DON’T REACT. A reaction is what the adversary is trying to get from you. Once you give it to him, he is successful. Not to react to what the world is doing takes discipline – discipline that can only come from an extensive knowledge and application of God’s Word. Here are some of the qualities that we will acquire as we learn God’s Word and operate the manifestations of Holy Spirit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. — Galatians 5: 22, 23
Notice that the quality referred to as ‘TEMPERANCE’ is listed. Temperance is ‘self control’. We should strive to be a master of self. Nothing rattles our cage. Nothing distracts us or makes us anxious.
Be careful (anxious or distracted) for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. – Philippians 4: 6
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things. — Philippians 4: 8
If we can acquire temperance, and enough mastery of self to not be distracted or anxious and are able to think only on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report, we can overcome the parasites. It may seem like a lot and it takes work to renew your mind to many of these Biblical principles.
What I am going to share with you took me forever to learn. Actually someone had to teach me just as I am doing with you. This again, is so simple, it may blow your mind, BUT IT WORKS and that is what matters. It is an art and must be developed. Any art can be mastered.
These simple tactics counter and defeat the adversary’s parasitical attempts to influence and control your life. Satan goes crazy when you ignore him especially as he works through other people – I mean absolutely crazy. These two techniques will buy you time to acquire the personality traits mentioned in the above Scriptures that you need to shut him down completely. Do whatever it takes. Listen to your heart. If you know God is telling you to stay away from a person or a location or even a task, then just do it. Don’t argue with God. You have free will to listen or not. A devil spirit can only parasite off of a person who knows the Word only if the host it is working through can see you and watch what you are doing. By staying out of sight of certain people, they cannot have any negative effects on you. Do you remember the alcoholic I told you about? Do you know what he said to me once when I practically first met him? He said “I’m watching you”– out of the clear blue. I simply blew it off and just thought he was an idiot. Little did I realize the future implications of his statement. Now I do almost everything I can away from his sight and it is driving him crazy. The spirit that works within him is losing its power because it cannot parasite off of me. Most of the time I won’t let him see me. That way he cannot provoke me to anger which is his main goal. Again, ‘advanced’ – I don’t expect all my readers to understand what I am saying. But you can surely understand most of it and that will be of profit to you.
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thingwhereto I sent it. – Isaiah 55: 10, 11
If you know that you are in the presence of someone or a group of people under the influence of devil spirits and cannot avoid the situation, then you can practice ignoring those people without them even realizing it. And even if they do realize it, let it become their problem, not yours. Don’t feel sorry – you will only get hurt if you allow yourself to be hurt. You can find great peace, satisfaction and a feeling of self-worth within yourself and with God IF you ‘shut off the adversary’s air’. The enemy who only steals, kills, and destroys will look for a way into your life – an open door. If he can’t find one, he will use other people to get at you if he can. His nature is that of a parasite and he will use that nature in the most deceptive ways that you can imagine. Your best defense overall against the enemy is to keep God first and foremost at all times. Then He will be able to teach you what you may not understand regarding the subject of protecting and guarding your heart and countering and defeating your personal adversary.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. — Matthew 6: 33
