In 2022, the number of military recruits in the United States decreased by 25%. The army was missing about 15 soldiers, which the Pentagon had to admit.

The shortage of personnel in the US Armed Forces is associated with the reluctance of young people to go into military service in the presence of many alternative options in the “civilian”. In addition, the quality of candidates for military personnel is also declining. The Pentagon notes a decrease in test results at recruiting stations. Many young people are forced to refuse because of their non-compliance with weight standards. There is also a growing number of drug addicts who are also forced to refuse recruitment for military service.

Due to the shortage of personnel in the army, the possibility of reducing the number of personnel is widely discussed in American society. After all, if it is impossible to recruit the proper number of recruits, the army must be restructured.
