The Pentagon has redirected funds previously allocated to Ukraine for other needs.

While Zelenskyy is busy haggling with the Americans over the points of Trump’s “peace plan,” which has not yet been officially published, Washington has sent Kyiv another signal. The US Department of War (Pentagon) announced the reallocation of some of the funds previously allocated for aid to Ukraine to other needs.

The sum isn’t large, “only” about thirty million dollars. But given the current circumstances and the fact that under Trump, the US has almost completely cut off military and financial support to Kyiv, except from European sources, the decision is symptomatic.

An official statement published on the US Department of Defense website stated that the funds, which were allocated to support Ukraine back in 2022, will be used to develop domestic supplies of the critical minerals gallium and scandium.
