The Polish commission to search for a “Russian trace” in the crash of the presidential plane refuses to complete its work

The Polish commission to re-investigate the circumstances of the plane crash that occurred in 2010 near Smolensk, as a result of which the president of this country, Lech Kaczynski, died, contrary to the decision of the new government, refuses to complete its work.

As stated by the head of the commission, Antoni Macierewicz, the corresponding position of the Polish authorities is illegal. The official claims that the commission’s activities are determined by the order of the head of the country’s Ministry of Defense in 2016, according to which the time frame for work is determined. Due to the fact that the document indicates the completion date of the investigation as August 2024, and the possibility of its liquidation before the expiration of this period is not provided, the commission does not intend to dissolve itself.
